2d and 3d in one game.

You can change it. You just change the setting in the System \ Video Configuration. You can also change the Camera Type via command, so you can have 2D or 3D whenever you like.

This is how I put videos and pre-rendered cutscene animations in my RPG Architect Game

Minor correction -- VLC, not VCL, in case anyone is looking for VCL on the web, haha. Otherwise, great notes! Thank you for the post!

    Encryption of game resources

Howdy. There are ways, apparently, to encrypt an entire package/directory and have it run, but I can't remember, for the life of me, about that. There are solutions out there, and I'll try to direct some folks that know about it to comment here (we're more active in Discord -- apologies for...

Any way to recreate traversing on structure tiles?

As one more note -- the (likely final) changes for tile movement are now in. If there are any issues, feel free to post in support or in the #support group inside of Discord!

Any way to recreate traversing on structure tiles?

There are some issues (presently) with tile movement that will be fixed VERY soon, fwiw.

    Let's create a Dialogue!

You may want to update Step 7 -- there's not an image there that explains the issue anymore. For anyone curious, there was confusion on how the "margins" worked between the Background and the Options components. @Canned_Dinosaur had the understanding that Margin on list should enforce that on...

FAQ: Why does RPG Architect use XZ in its map editor?

A few other reasons for the design choice: RPGA is actually a 3D engine, so everything always renders with 3D acceleration. 2D rendering just enforces a few specific parameters and details. Since RPGA can handle both 2D and 3D (and you could theoretically change the camera type in the middle...

    Hi there!

Glad to have you. I played Koudelka for about 10 minutes and shut it off and returned it to the rental store. That game was brutal!

    Introducing Mondune!

I remember ZZT too! I had a letter from Tim Sweeney somewhere after I bought it.

    Aezrin's Gamejam Submissions.

Yes. The Hollow Path was a great game (which will totally fail in RPGA now that bugs have been fixed -- but you leaned into the shortcomings!). The Bandit Cave built on that and improved on every aspect, adding (fun!) combat. Excited to see what you come up with next.

    Hello

Hi, I'm Locke. I played with RPG Maker 95/2000/2003 back in the day (re: when they came out). I briefly dabbled in XP. I came back after I got (significantly?) older with MV, right before MZ came out. I was kind of sad that Maker hadn't evolved since then. I thought, "Engines shouldn't cost...

    Basic FPS / Mouse Looking

Very nice. A thought -- you could potentially direct folks on how to setup some base global variables (like you are), and then also give them the Virtual Keys to copy. RPG Architect allows you to paste data in clear-text (as you displayed above). Can definitely do it some more!
