Lighting looks weird with a roof on.

As you can see in this screenshot, the very top of the tileset is lit, despite it being covered by a top layer. Also the shadow on top of the screen is bent.

I am suspecting the latter issue might be connected to a larger FOV (I set mine to 90). Is there any way to adjust this alongside the FOV? And can I somehow make the tiles not lit on the top?

Quick Edit: as I fiddled a bit with the FOV, it had no impact on this strange issue with shadows.

It might not be something that can be fixed. So you could use a work around.
Either disable the Directional Lighting on that Map, as it isn't intended to light up things thay are indoors.
Or setup another set of Structure Tiles on top of the roof, to "tighten" the gaps so to speak.

Hey, I looked into this -- here's what's happening:

Our shadow technique basically is having an issue with the thin bias plane created by the "roof," which is basically not able to differentiate that it is truly, actually there.

The solution is actually rather simple/arbitrary. Where you'd have a roof (presumably on another layer), use a structural tile and draw it. This effectively makes the "top" get covered by a bit more, such that nothing passes that bias. I think roughly half a tile unit would be sufficient (and was when I looked at it) -- so I set the Unit Height for my "roof" layer to .25, since my walls were 2 tall by default. This effectively makes the "walls" for the structural tile for the roof .5 tiles tall.

Hope that helps!
