Well, I started game making while at school on the VIC20 in the days you typed games in from magazines and saved them on cassette tape.
I didn't have a lot to do with computers in early life till the internet came big. I was doing a fair bit PLC and SCADA programming at work, before I retired early due to Glaucoma. I tried RPGMV, liked the concept but it seemed woefully underpowered even with all the plugins. The next month MZ hit the market and I thought it's got to be a huge improvement, but nope and there weren't even Plugins for it, so gave up.
I did some largish script mods for FalloutNV and FO4 and tried making a game in Unity 3D which was too daunting. and somehow after trying various other game engines, I stumbled on RPGA which has meant around 6months work on my project so far with more learning of course, but its looking promising. I started just planning a 16x16 2D RPG and now it's 3D 64x64. I'm not strong on graphics stuff but can do some pretty crazy Redneck coding, and have a unending fountain of feature requests to drive Locke nuts. It's an awesome engine and great community.
